Senate Passes Unanimous Resolution Expressing Solidarity with Palestinians

The Senate of Pakistan has passed a resolution demanding the immediate withdrawal of Israeli troops from the occupied Palestinian territories. The resolution was presented by Leader of the House Ishaq Dar. It reaffirms Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and calls for the restoration of their rights. The resolution also emphasizes Pakistan’s support for the creation of an independent and viable state of Palestine with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its capital.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, while concluding the discussion on the motion regarding Israeli atrocities against innocent Palestinians, reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people. He criticized Israel for violating international and humanitarian laws. He also highlighted the significant loss of life, including a large number of children, due to Israel’s expansion of attacks to the West Bank.

Jilani praised Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic role and the government’s efforts to convey a message of solidarity to the Palestinian people. He mentioned that the caretaker Prime Minister had a telephonic conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia played a key role in convening an extraordinary session of the OIC in Jeddah, which called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, humanitarian assistance to Palestinians, the release of prisoners, and the revival of the peace process.

The Senate passed a unanimous resolution expressing strong support and solidarity with the Palestinian people who have been oppressed for a long time. The resolution strongly condemned the Israeli actions against humanity and state terrorism inflicted upon the people of Palestine in Gaza. It also criticized the double standards and hypocrisy of those supporting Israel and opposing an immediate ceasefire in beleaguered Gaza.

The resolution called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the blockade in Gaza. It emphasized the need to allow international humanitarian organizations full access to the territory so they can provide relief supplies, medicines, food, and water to the beleaguered Palestinians. The Senate also called for an end to Israeli aggression and occupation, as well as an immediate halt to all Israeli activities aimed at desecrating the holy places of the Muslim Ummah.
