Renowned Actor Nausheen Masud Succumbs to Cancer

Pakistan’s showbiz industry is in shock and grief over the demise of Nausheen Masud, a renowned actress, producer, host, and writer, who passed away on Wednesday after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Masud was a household name in Pakistan, with a career spanning over two decades. She started her journey as a video jockey (VJ) on a music show in the mid-90s, and soon made her mark as an actor in various drama serials. Some of her memorable performances include “Jaal”, “Colony 52”, “Gher Tau Aakhir Apna Hai”, and “Dolly Ki Ayegi Barat”.

Masud was also a creative director who directed many music videos for famous singers, such as Shahzad Roy, Junaid Jamshed, Aamir Zaki, Jawad Ahmed, and the music band Junoon. She had a flair for music and art, and often showcased her singing and painting skills on social media.

Masud’s colleagues and friends from the showbiz industry expressed their condolences and paid tribute to her on social media. Adnan Siddiqui, who co-starred with her in several dramas, wrote on X: “Farewell to the remarkable Nausheen Masud, dear friend, and beautiful soul. Her warmth and style added magic to every moment we shared on and off camera. Grateful for the memories we co-created. Rest peacefully, Nausheen.”

Shahzad Iqbal, a renowned anchor, who worked under the guidance and supervision of Masud wrote on X: “I had always admired Nausheen Masud as a VJ on a music show in mid 90s and later she happened to be my first Boss when I started working. I owe her big time for giving me my first break. May Allah rest your soul in peace. Please pray for the departed soul.”

Masud’s fans and admirers also shared their sorrow and appreciation for her work and personality on social media. Many of them called her a legend, a gem, and a role model for women in Pakistan.

Masud’s death is a huge loss for the Pakistani entertainment industry and the nation. She was a woman of substance, who inspired millions with her work and her spirit. She will always be remembered and cherished for her contributions and achievements. May her soul rest in peace.
