PSL 9 Ticket Sales Delayed After Cyberattack on Website

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) management has announced that the online ticket sales for the ninth edition of the tournament have been postponed due to a cyberattack on the ticketing website.

The cyberattack occurred on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, when the tickets were supposed to go on sale at 5:00 pm. The PSL management said that the technical team of the ticketing partners was working to resolve the issue and restore the website as soon as possible.

“We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our fans and request their patience and understanding. We are confident that the issue will be resolved soon and the online ticket sales will resume shortly,” the PSL management said in a statement.

The PSL management also informed the fans that physical tickets were mandatory for all PSL 9 matches and that e-tickets (self-printed or digital copies) would not be accepted for entry at any of the four venues hosting the tournament.

The fans can buy physical tickets from designated TCS express centres across the country from February 12, 2024 onwards. The fans who book tickets online can also collect them from TCS’ designated pick-up centres or opt for home delivery by the courier service.

The PSL 9 will kick off with an opening ceremony and the first match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United on February 17 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The final match will take place on March 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The ticket prices for the PSL 9 matches are as follows:

  • Opening match and final: PKR 6,000 and PKR 8,000 respectively (VIP), PKR 3,000 and PKR 4,000 respectively (Premium), PKR 2,000 and PKR 2,500 respectively (First class) and PKR 1,000 (General).
  • Qualifier: PKR 5,000 (VIP), PKR 2,500 (Premium), PKR 1,500 (First class) and PKR 750 (General).
  • Eliminators: PKR 5,000 (VIP), PKR 3,000 (Premium), PKR 1,500 (First class) and PKR 750 (General).

The PSL 9 will feature six teams: Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans. The tournament will be played across four venues: Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan.

The PSL 9 will also feature some of the world’s best cricketers, including Chris Gayle, Rashid Khan, Dale Steyn, David Miller, Colin Munro, Mohammad Nabi, Ben Cutting, Tom Banton, Alex Hales, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir and many more.

The PSL 9 will also honour some of the legendary cricketers of Pakistan by naming the enclosures of the stadiums after them. The enclosure details are as follows:

  • Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore: VIP – Imran Khan and Fazal Mahmood, Premium – Rajas and Saeed Anwar, First Class – Javed Miandad, AH Kardar, Sarfaraz Nawaz and Abdul Qadir, General – Majid Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Nazar, Quaid, Imtiaz Ahmed, Zaheer Abbas, Hanif Mohammad and Saeed Ahmed.
  • Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan: VIP – Imran Khan, Fazal Mahmood, Premium – Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, First Class – Elahi Brothers, Wasim Akram, General – Hanif Mohammad, Mushtaq Ahmed.
  • Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi: VIP – Imran Khan, Javed Akhtar, Javed Miandad and Azhar Mahmood, Premium – Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, Miran Buksh and Yasir Arafat.
  • National Bank Stadium, Karachi: VIP – Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad, Premium – Imran Khan, Quaid, Wasim Akram, First Class – Asif Iqbal, Intikhab Alam, Iqbal Qasim, Mohammad Brothers, Nasimul Ghani, Zaheer Abbas, General – Majid Khan, Waqar Hasan, Wasim Bari.

The PSL 9 is expected to be a thrilling and entertaining spectacle for the cricket fans in Pakistan and around the world. The fans are advised to buy their tickets as soon as possible and support their favourite teams and players.
