PCB Announces Schedule for Upcoming New Zealand Tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming tour of the New Zealand men’s cricket team. The Kiwis are set to play a series of five T20 International matches in Pakistan this April, with the games distributed between Lahore and Rawalpindi.

The New Zealand squad is expected to land in Islamabad on April 14, following which they will engage in three consecutive T20Is at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on April 18, 20, and 21. Subsequently, the teams will head to Lahore to compete in the final two T20Is on April 25 and 27 at the Gaddafi Stadium.

All matches are slated to commence at 7 pm local time. In a move to ensure maximum attendance, the PCB has decided to set ticket prices at affordable rates, allowing fans to witness their favorite cricketers in action.

This tour marks New Zealand’s third visit to Pakistan within a span of 17 months, highlighting the strong cricketing relationship between the two nations. Previously, the Blackcaps participated in two Tests and three ODIs in December 2022/January 2023, followed by a series of 10 white-ball matches in April of the same year.

PCB’s Director International Cricket, Usman Wahla, expressed that the tour is emblematic of the ‘deep-rooted ties and mutual respect’ that exist between PCB and New Zealand Cricket (NZC). He emphasized the enthusiasm of Pakistani cricket fans and the nation’s readiness to host another competitive series, which is crucial for Pakistan’s preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup later this year.

The schedule for the New Zealand team’s visit is as follows:

April 16-17: Training and practice sessions.

April 18: 1st T20I in Rawalpindi.

April 20: 2nd T20I in Rawalpindi.

April 21: 3rd T20I in Rawalpindi.

April 25: 4th T20I in Lahore.

April 27: 5th T20I in Lahore.

The PCB’s commitment to affordable cricket entertainment and the significance of this tour in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup are set to make this series a memorable event for cricket enthusiasts across Pakistan.
