Pakistan Goes Green with 160 Electric Buses from China

Pakistan has taken a major step towards a greener and more sustainable future by acquiring 160 electric buses from China in a deal worth over RMB 150 million. The buses, which are manufactured by Suzhou Higer, a leading Chinese bus maker, were handed over to Pakistan in a ceremony held in Suzhou Industrial Park in Jiangsu province on Saturday.

The ceremony was attended by Pakistani officials, including General Manager Suzhou Higer, Qiu Yuanhong, Deputy General Manager Xie Jianghong, Customer Service Director Jiang Haifeng, and General Manager of Overseas Sales. They expressed their appreciation and satisfaction with the quality and performance of the buses, which they had tested the day before.

The electric buses are the first of their kind to be introduced in Pakistan in such a large quantity. They have several advantages over conventional buses, such as zero emissions, low operating costs, low noise pollution, and high efficiency. They also have a long cruising range of over 250 kilometers and a long anti-corrosion period of more than ten years, thanks to the advanced cathodic electrophoresis technology used in the vehicle body.

Moreover, the buses are equipped with the intelligent operation system T-BOX, which can monitor driver behavior and vehicle operation data in real-time to ensure operational safety and protect passenger travel. The system can also provide data analysis and management services for the bus operators and authorities.

The electric buses are expected to improve the quality of public transportation and the living environment in Pakistan, which faces challenges such as dust, congestion, and pollution on the roads. Higer has been providing customized and innovative solutions for the Pakistani market since 2006, and has become the market leader in new energy buses in the country.

The deal is also a significant milestone for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which aim to enhance connectivity and cooperation between China and Pakistan in various fields, including transportation. The electric buses will help promote the high-quality development of CPEC and BRI in the field of public transportation, and showcase the mutual benefits and friendship between the two countries.
