Find a reason

Find patterns

Describe the circumstances under which you indulge in your habit, including when, when, why, and how you do it.  Knowing why you behave the way you do is essential if you wish to alter that behavior. Keep track of your habits for a week or a month in a notebook. Try to spot any regularities. Increased self-awareness is the cornerstone of transformation.

Set a goal

After the issue has been recognized, work toward a solution. How will you know when you’ve arrived at your goal?
