COAS and Imam-e-Kaaba Express Solidarity with Oppressed Muslims in Gaza and IIOJK

Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir received his Excellency Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Muhammad Humaid, the Imam-e-Kaaba, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday. The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

General Asim welcomed the Imam-e-Kaaba as a distinguished guest and a source of great honor for the people of Pakistan. He highlighted the profound reverence that Muslims worldwide hold for the Haramain Shareefain and their custodian, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He also acknowledged the unique reverence that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds in the hearts of Pakistanis, emphasising the unanimity of views between the two brotherly countries.

Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Muhammad Humaid emphasised the peaceful nature of Islam, asserting that there is no room for misconstrued interpretations of the religion. He said that Islam teaches tolerance, harmony, and respect for human dignity and rights. He also offered prayers for the peace, stability, and unity of the Ummah.

Both dignitaries expressed condemnation for the ongoing atrocities in the Gaza conflict and the oppression faced by Muslims in IIOJK. They solidified their support for the people of Palestine and Kashmir, who are facing brutalities and human rights violations at the hands of the Israeli and Indian forces. They called for the resolution of the Kashmir and Palestine disputes in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the people.

General Asim underscored the robust strategic relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, rooted in exemplary historic religious and cultural ties. He said that Pakistan values its fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia and appreciates its role in promoting peace and stability in the region and the Muslim world. He also thanked the Imam-e-Kaaba for his visit and his efforts to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity among the Muslims.
