Chacha Bashir Restricted from Waving Pakistani Flag at Hyderabad Airport

In a recent incident that has stirred emotions among cricket fans, Chacha Bashir, a devoted fan of the Pakistan cricket team, was stopped from waving the Pakistan flag at Hyderabad Airport by security personnel. This incident occurred as the Pakistan cricket team arrived in India to participate in the highly anticipated ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 

Bashir, who currently resides in the United States, had traveled to Hyderabad to give a warm welcome to the Men in Green. Dressed in a green suit to represent his love for Pakistan, Bashir reached Hyderabad to show his support for Babar Azam and his team. However, his enthusiasm was met with opposition when security personnel approached him and confiscated the Pakistani flag.

Expressing his deep disappointment at the situation, Bashir protested, "My clothes are of Pakistani colour". Despite this setback, Bashir remained undeterred in his support for the team. He stated, “I have come here to boost the morale of the Pakistan cricket team,” and added, “The Pakistani team will enjoy delicious food in Hyderabad”.

Bashir also expressed his commitment to supporting the team throughout the tournament. “I will travel to every city where Pakistan will play their matches to support them,” he said. This incident has highlighted Bashir’s unwavering dedication and love for the Pakistan cricket team.

The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Hyderabad under high security, with more than 20 security cars escorting Babar Azam and his team to their hotel. The national team left Lahore airport at 3.20am and made a brief stopover in Dubai before taking a flight to India’s Hyderabad.

Pakistan’s travel contingent consisted of 18 players and 13-player support personnel. Less than 48 hours after landing in India, Pakistan will play their first warmup game against New Zealand on September 29 in Hyderabad. Their last warmup match will be against Australia on October 3, three days before they begin their World Cup campaign by taking on the Netherlands on October 6 at the same stadium.

The Pakistan squad for ICC World Cup 2023 includes Babar Azam (c), Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Usama Mir, Haris Rauf, M Wasim Jnr, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha.
