Barrister Gohar Khan’s House Raided by Police, Family Members Beaten Up

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan claimed that his family was attacked at their residence in Islamabad while he was attending a Supreme Court hearing12345. The PTI chief was present at the court for the hearing of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) plea challenging the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) verdict favoring the PTI in a case related to the party’s bat symbol and intra-party polls.

Barrister Gohar Khan abruptly left the Supreme Court premises after receiving the distressing news. He reported that his sons and nephews were beaten up and their computer was seized by individuals who arrived in four double cabins. The PTI Chairman expressed his concerns to his colleague and party member, Barrister Ali Zafar.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Qazi Faez Isa, expressed his displeasure at the news, stating, "Whatever happened should not have happened". He summoned the additional attorney general to look into the matter. The additional attorney general assured the court that he would investigate the incident.

Upon his return to the court, the PTI Chairman informed the CJP that the situation was very serious. The CJP directed the additional attorney general to resolve the matter. The additional attorney general informed the court that he had spoken with the home secretary and Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, and that they were investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad police issued a statement claiming that they had reached Barrister Gohar’s house on a tip-off about wanted criminals. They stated that upon realizing the house belonged to Barrister Gohar, they left without causing any violence or taking any documents. They described the operation as routine and assured that further investigations were being carried out.
