Babar Azam Celebrates 29th Birthday with World Cup Hopes

Pakistan’s star batsman and captain, Babar Azam, turned 29 on Sunday, October 15, as he leads his team in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in India. The Lahore-born cricketer received warm wishes from his fans, teammates, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on his special day.

Babar Azam has been one of the most consistent and prolific performers in world cricket, especially in the limited-overs formats. He is currently the number one ranked batsman in ODIs and the fourth-ranked batsman in T20Is. He has scored 12,731 runs in international cricket across all formats, with 35 centuries and 67 half-centuries.

He is also the fastest batsman to reach 5,000 runs in ODIs, achieving the feat in just 101 innings. He has also registered three consecutive centuries on two occasions in ODIs, a rare feat in cricket history. He was also named the ICC Men’s Player of the Year 2022 for his outstanding performances.

As the captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam has shown great leadership skills and has brought stability and unity to the team. He has led Pakistan to several memorable victories. He has also guided Pakistan to the top of the T20I rankings and has improved their record in Tests.

Babar Azam is currently leading Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023, where they have won their first two matches against Netherlands and Sri Lanka convincingly and lost their third match against India.
