4 Tips to stay safe as a woman

Women are encouraged to practice these possibly life-saving precautions whenever they encounter dangerous situations. It is not often that one comes across information that provides women with actionable guidance on how to protect themselves in potentially dangerous situations. However, these are just some of the many ways you may prevent yourself from becoming a victim.

Never comply

Never give in to the demands of an attacker who pulls a gun on you and orders you to get into his vehicle. They want you to get in the car so they can drive you to an isolated spot and do whatever they want there. The great majority of would-be attackers do not intend to fire any bullets at you. Instead, they want you to get in the vehicle so that they can transport you there. Do not comply; run away while screaming instead of staying where you are. Most of the time, he will move on to prey that presents fewer difficulties.

Don’t fall for traps.

You should not pull over if someone is driving next to you and acts as though there is anything wrong with your vehicle, even if they pretend there is. In such a scenario, you must ensure that your car works by going to the next popular gas station. You will find a lot of light and people willing to assist you (or ask an attendant). Some women have fallen for this con because they are terrified that their vehicles may blow up as they travel down the road.

Be alert in Parking lots.

In parking lots, always be on the lookout. If you want to do your grocery shopping late, you should not be ashamed about asking that you be led to your car from the grocery store. A disproportionately high number of sexual assaults and kidnappings of women take place in parking lots. Always keep your head up and look to the left, right, and behind you to ensure that you are aware of your surroundings at all times. Even if your hypervigilance makes you seem a bit crazy to others watching, a possible attacker will think twice about getting too near to someone who appears to be aware of the situation. This is because they believe that the person will fight back.

Be careful of who enters your home.

Do not open the door to a person you cannot confirm your relationship. If you do not currently have a peephole, we ask that you please install one. Always remember to lock your doors before you leave the house. Consequently, he will be able to sneak up on you unnoticed and surprise you. It would help if you did not let uninvited guests inside your home.
